2001 Illustrator of the Year!!
At a gala presentation in Sydney Australia, artist Phil McKay was officially recognised as Australian Geographic 2001 Illustrator of the Year.
The prestigious award is recognition of Phil's acclaimed wildlife artwork of the Rainbow Lorikeets. The quarterly Australian Geographic Journal features specially commissioned wildlife paintings for the front cover of each edition.
Judges' noted the high standard of detail, accuracy and composition distinguishing Phil's entry as the favourite and deserved winner of 2001 Australian Geographic Illustration of the Year.
